Wedding Flowers Should Be Planned Well in Advance

Weddings are beautiful affairs which leave everyone with a warm, happy glow – before, during and after the ceremony itself. And nothing sets the scene better than beautiful arrays of wedding flowers decorating the room.

It is the decorations and flowers in a room which announce that something special is about to happen here. Then the wedding party arrives and everything gets going. This makes it imperative that the flowers be chosen with a great deal of extra care and attention so that they set the scene.

The number of flowers you need should be worked out well in advanced so that they can be ordered. Does your wedding have a theme? Or have you chosen a particularly striking color scheme? The flowers should reflect your choice for this occasion. If it is a spring wedding, then choose lighter, more pastel shades so that you can make your guests feel light and airy and reflect any sunlight which may be coming into the room.

If it is a winter wedding, then it may be held under soft artificial lighting. Your flowers can be bolder and darker to allow for different lighting and to make a bold statement.

Make sure you give the florist plenty of time to prepare the bouquets for you. Especially if you have planned a large exotic bouquet, you will need to give them a lot of notice so that they can order everything in and get everything ready for you.

Check with your planned venue to see whether they have any restrictions about what you can have, or which size displays you are allowed. This is an important detail which could spell disaster if not carried out. Your florist could arrive with large displays only to be turned away if they are too large.

A very good idea is to have separate bouquets made up for yourself. If you are going to throw your bouquet at the end of the ceremony when you are leaving, then you may not want to throw your splendid wedding bouquet for your bridesmaids to catch. Having an extra smaller bouquet made up means that you can throw this instead. This way you get to keep your special flowers and everyone is happy.

Finally, when everything is over, it is a good idea to donate your flowers to a hospital or home. Places like these are always brightened up by receiving flowers at any time, and you can feel like your special day has brightened up other people’s lives too.
